Hen Party with my Best Friend

Hen Party – A party with my best friend

They had not fixed upon the date as yet when I started to chalk out plans for my hen party, and honestly it gives me goose bumps when I look back and think about those good old days when I was young and full of bouncy spirits. Chris and I were dating for like some five long years and it was like an emotional roller-coaster ride throughout, and we survived the apocalypse and decided to tie the knot. So with my wedding round the corner I called up Aleina, my best friend to help me out with the preparations and to amend and incorporate changes in my hen party.

It’s really hard to manage a busy life at times and we finally fixed upon a date for all my girls to turn up for the Hen Party. Chris and his squad headed towards Goa for his bachelor party and we settled for a hill station, Mussoorie. I was supposed to be more excited for my wedding but there a fine line between what we are supposed to be and what are, isn’t it? So was true for me, I was way more excited for my hen party with my girl gang after a long time.

Aleina and I spent sleepless nights thinking about it, we had planned for everything starting from clothes to Adam-hunting. And the day arrived, it was a tiresome journey. Aleina covered the distance with me and others would join us a day later, Aleina enjoyed the nudge of being on the edge, my best friend, she was my secret sharer, my alter-ego in short my world was incomplete without her presence, but not after the blunder she committed that night.

Social Gathering at Hill Station

Hill-stations have an eerie milieu, and at the same time it gives an aesthetic pleasure, after three hours of arrival we decided upon checking out the local-bar. Without wasting much time we left, the bar housed a panorama of appetizers and hard liquor; we had an array of refreshments to choose from. Slowly and steadily we started to feel at home and enjoyed the music, Chris called me up and I had to leave Aleina for a while. As soon as I returned I found her eyeing someone, someone I was not well acquainted with, I did not join her, she too had a privacy concern.

I sat in one corner and clicked photographs of myself to post on social-media and occasionally tracked Aleina’s moves, something was cooking between them but I could not figure out what exactly was it. They embraced each other and exchanged a short-talk and then he left. Aleina knew where I was, she sat beside me and boasted about him, I knew it she liked him and I did not want to intrude unnecessarily, keeping everything at bay I asked her to join me shopping, the local-market offered lucrative offers and discounts and I did not want to miss out on that.

I know she mastered the art of pretension although I could see through her tricks, I decided to remain silent. She went back to our suite and I went out shopping, after an hour I returned tired and drenched out I tried to figure out how the next day would be, what would we do or was the idea of the hen party a complete disaster?

Revelation

As I walked down the aisle an array of thoughts crossed my mind, I was wondering whether Chris was enjoying his Bachelor Party, how would my friends look now, some of them have kids, and slowly but steadily, I found myself at my doorstep. I had a spare key, it was around eleven at night and I did not want to wake up Aleina or else she would have every reason to blame me for those dark under-eyes. I helped myself and found the key but as soon as I opened the door, well it hit me like a bolt from the blue, it was what shall I say, gross? Found Aleina and that man on bed, need I say more?
