Yes you are right, today 7th July is the world Chocolate day. This year marks 467th year from the time chocolate has been introduced in Europe. People celebrate the day by consuming chocolate. This day is observed globally.

The seeds of Cacao tree is fermented, dried, cleaned and then roasted. The shell is also removed to produce unadulterated chocolate in rough form. They are typically sweet and brown in color.

It is one of the most popular food type all over the world and yes everyone loves chocolate.

Here are some benefits of consuming chocolate.

  • It lowers cholesterol & heart disease – According to a study, chocolate consumption might help reduce low-density lipoprotein cholesterol level aka “bad fats”. Since it reduces the “bat fat”, it improves the blood flow and hence lowers any heart disease.
  • Prevents memory loss – Chocolates keeps your brain healthy and in turn improves your memory. Suggestion is that kids should take more chocolates to improve their brain cells. Since it greatly improves the blood flow, so it helps more blood to rush to brains and in turn keeps brain cells healthy.
  • Eating 30gms of chocolate during pregnancy can help the in baby growth and development.

Please be careful if you are trying to slim down, because chocolates are high calorie content, so setting up a limit everyday can help you. There is one downside; chocolate can cause less bone density which is observed in another study.

So excessive intake of chocolates can be harmful as well for the body, therefore taking in moderate amount is beneficial.
