Every break of dawn witnessed my inquisitiveness regarding my insecurities; a long chat with my mother pacified my nerves when everything else failed to provide solace to my intermittent inner-self. It was a Sunday morning and I was expecting a call from my cousin, Sameera was not just a cousin but also a soul mate, she was supposed to discuss the get together with me at granny’s place for the upcoming weekend. I was not well acquainted with everyone I was related to by blood for it has been more than five years I left my hometown and settled down in Bangalore.

I was not in a hurry as it was a Sunday morning and I did not leave the cozy blanket before the clock stroked twelve in the afternoon. The doorbell rang and since I was the only surviving empress of my little kingdom and apartment I could not even enjoy the bliss of a lazy Sunday afternoon and I had to attend to the uninvited and unwanted guest at my doorstep. To my surprise, it was the security guard holding a parcel. An array of thoughts crossed my mind with a single glance as I peeped through the keyhole before opening the door; I have been highly suspicious of everything and everyone right from my childhood.
