The Sprawling Villa
Emmalie’s room was in a complete clutter when I sneaked in to test the waters about her groundwork and I happened to step on her Dolly, the doll just as Emmalie, draped in pink. Nevertheless, I found something enchanting about its eyes; it showed every sign of unexplained things.
I being an ardent listener and a doting observer always looked forward to something unexpectedly amidst the accustomed. My thrust for exploring the unknown took a flight the next day right after the everlasting sensation I felt when Steve touched my soul the cryptic cognizance added to the grandeur.
The brief encounter with some lively banter in the initial phase moved slowly as our drowsy nerves confronted an epiphany and the profuse convulsions were oddly satisfying. Slowly the sequences drifted into a world of despondency as we struggled to hang on to the principles that led us into a pit of euphoria that was short-lived.
Steve cheated on us, for he sealed the moment of encounter to a moment of eternity and there was a bleak chance to swing back to the previous rapport. I had all the time in the world to settle scores but my world had drastically changed overnight and my voice was unheard.
They refused to believe that I still existed; I could not rest in peace for I had to settle scores with Steve and save Emmalie from the death trap. Emmalie believed that I was resting in peace in my grave. Every night I tried to narrate my poignant tale of death about how he strangulated me to death and disclosed his evil intentions of taking over my sister’s property right after marrying her.Â
THAT WAS A SHOCKING SURPRISE
I tried every herb and hybrid, I tried to whisper it to her ears and even tried to reach out to her by appearing in her dreams, I tried but I could not succeed for she asked for help from the Church to keep my spirit at bay. Steve had convinced her that I was the devil in disguise who tried to tear apart their unbridled fabric of paradise. She was unaware of our unborn child and why he killed me, she was in complete darkness just like me.
I always harbored the idea of having a family of my own, raising my kids and enjoying the simple pleasures of life, but I met with a tragic end with a life still unborn. My meek attempts met a dismal failure and all I could do was watch from a distance how he embraced the end just like me for what goes around comes around.
It was the night of their wedding and they were at ease with the idea of consummating the alliance.
Everything went as planned, it should have been me instead of Emmalie on the bed, and my big day should have been celebrated. I was burning with rage from within and dying a thousand deaths even after my death, my suffering knew no bounds, but I was sure she would not survive for too long, either for Steve would kill her, she looked as pretty as me but it came to me like a bolt from the blue.
It was hard to believe that Steve was just a pawn and she was the mastermind who planned my death. My father declared me as the sole owner of our sprawling villa and there was nothing she could do about it.
She decided to play Stella, she was my identical twin and it was plain sailing for her to look like me and dupe a man who pretended to love me and put him to use as and when required. Emmalie started to taste the wine from his lips and before he could make a move, she stabbed him. Steve also met with a sudden tragic end and he will join me in endless suffering.
I wondered how she knew about how I got hold of my property, true to her parting words she avenged his death, I used Steve to get my father killed and she used him to kill me. Steve and I had chalked out the plan for killing dad and then Emmalie but she tricked me and it was me who died that night for what goes around comes around.
