Uber Founder resigns the position of CEO as most of Uber investors were actively demanding the resignation. 5 of the major shareholders demanded the founder to step down from CEO position permanently.
Well, Uber has indeed changed our life from old taxi calling service to brand new, app driven taxi service. The taxi service transformation has allowed competition and created job for people in countries where calling taxi was like calling upon your luck. Taking a taxi is so easy and cheap that you sometimes think of Uber instead of your car.
According to NY Times, Uber founder Travis Kalanick has resigned as CEO. Kalanick has taken a leave of absence following death of his mother.
The trouble started earlier this year when a former Uber engineer detailed about sexual harassment in the company which opened complaints flood gate. In addition, Uber is dealing with a lawsuit from waymo and a federal inquiry into a software tool Uber used.
